In blue and yellow from its grave, Springs up the crocus fair.

Crocuses, the little flowers that only open their vibrant petals to spring, have finally started to dot the yards of the inhabitants of Wayne, PA. Our own crocuses decided to display their colors today. In an early celebration of the arrival of Spring, as the true first day is on Friday, I've decided to show off our two sweet little crocuses.

Temple Trip

We had a great Youth Temple Trip on Saturday. Daddy was able to come and participate, which always makes it really special. The day was absolutely beautiful, above 70 degrees with a light breeze. We were early so we were able walked around the Temple grounds a little and saw several blissful newlyweds. It was sweet. Unfortunately Johnny won't turn 12 for another month, so he missed out on this one. I was especially sad about that because this was my last Youth Temple Trip and I had been hoping to go with Johnny on his first trip. Oh well. It was great being with Abe, as always, although all 3 of us somehow managed to be in different cars because of other people's arrangements. It was a really great experience for everyone anyway.

the Smorsgasbord

This past Friday, after many weeks of planning and anticipation, we finally made our way to the palace of eating; Shady Maple. Originally, Mimi and Doug were planning on taking John and Abe down as treat for their help at the Messiah Sing Along and as a celebration of Mimi not being nauseated all the time. But, as I got accepted to BYU and Dad's prospects for this job looked brighter and we discovered that Mike had never been to the smorsgasbord, we made it into a whole family affair. Its been years since most of us have been to Shady Maple. Last time we went Dad called the new, bigger establishment an abomination, so we never returned. With all the special occasions though, we decided to venture back and we were not disappointed. The new building and set up of Shady Maple is very different from our much loved old one, but it still has bits of the old place around it. The classic 3D pictures were still hanging on the wall. Doug went crazy (as it was his first time at a smorsgasbord too), Shana and Abe tied in the competition to see who could eat more food, and Mike beat them both. Mimi enjoyed eating food without feeling sick and Bekah loved being able to have 3 servings of ice cream. It was just a lot of fun for everyone. We plan on returning in another 5-10 yrs.

Although most everyone is aware of this, I just thought I'd post my official college decision. This fall I will be heading off to Brigham Young University as the first Muldowney girl ever to attend this institution for post-secondary education. Everything is official. So yeah!
